Welcome to The "Black Beach Week 2006 Schedule". We are in the process of putting together the largest lineup of beach and super party events for people of color which will occur all throughout 2006. There are over 200 events schedule for this year. Unless otherwise notated all events will carry a minimum of 5,000 to over 1,000, 000 participants.

MONTH OF JANUARY 2006



BARBADOS JAZZ FESTIVAL - PAINT IT JAZZ

Place: Barbados

Date: January 09 - 15, 2006

Comments: There will be cool jazz on warm Caribbean shores when Barbados hosts the thirteenth annual Barbados Jazz Festival from January 9th to 15th, 2006. The Barbados Jazz Festival, which celebrates the best in international and local jazz talent, has become a major annual Caribbean event. Venues typically include the modern Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, historic Sunbury Plantation House, and the popular open air venue, Farley Hill National Park.







BATTLE OF THE BANDS - CHAMPIONSHIP III

Place: Atlanta, Ga

Comments: It's been called the Superbowl Of College Marching Bands. Watch All The Historically Black College Marching Bands From Around The Country Compete To Find Out Who Is The Very Best! When the show gets ready, no one takes a break, no one goes to get popcorn, no one goes to get a soda. All eyes are on the field for some of the most electrofying displays of showmanship, sparkle, music and serious competitiveness in the country.







SUPERBOWL 2006 WEEKEND

Place: Detroit, Michigan

Date: February 1 - February 5, 2006 (Actual Game Sunday, February 5, 2005)

Comments: The largest party in the world. Every entertainer, athlete, celebrity and more will converge in Detroit for this event. Every club and party will be jammed packed.







BLACK SKI WEEK 2006

Place: Banff, Alberta, Canada

Date: February 11-18, 2006

Comments: The largest black ski event in the world. Thousands of participants from everywhere in the country come to mingle in Canada. Dozens of celebrities, entertainers and parties makes this a unique way to meet others for one of the largest annual African American events in the country.







MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2006



THE PRO-BOWL

Place: Honululu, Hawaii

Date: February 10-12, 2006

Comments: The best NFL players of the season gather for a traditional Pro Bowl game. Weekend full of warm weather, exciting events and plenty of get togethers. On Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, the best players from the AFC will face their counterparts from the NFC in the Pro Bowl. Set in Honolulu's 50,000-seat Aloha Stadium on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, the Pro Bowl offers picture-perfect playing conditions against a backdrop of blue skies, clear water, and swaying palm trees.









NBA ALL-STAR GAME

Comments: The largest African American college basketball weekend and party spot. Over 120,000 jam pack the weekend which features fashion shows, concerts, comedy, step shows and more







THE SOUL TRAIN MUSIC AWARDS

Place: Los Angeles, CA

Comments: The award shows, after parties and concerts makes this a have-to-be-there event. Don't be the one who gets left out of all the fun because the entire A list of people will be enjoying all the festivities.







JAZZ ON THE BEACH

Place: Ocean Mall Riviera Beach, FL

Date: March 24-25, 2006

Comments: The City's Signature Event is the Annual Jazz & Blues Festival held on the municipal beach the last week-end of March each year.







B.E.T SPRING BLING 2006

Place: Haulover, Florida

Date: March 24-26, 2006

Comments: For the very first time, BET seperates itself from Daytona and holds it's very own spring break event in Haulover, Florida. With over 20 acts, BET has the largest lineup of performing artist then any other event throughout the year. Since it will be taped for a BET special, all concerts are FREE







BLACK COLLEGE REUNION 2006 - BLACK BEACH WEEK

Place: Daytona Beach, Florida

Comments: It's been called the KING of black beach week events for spring breakers. 150,000 - 200,000 participants will all converge in Daytona for some off the wall beach parties, concerts and street festivals. 2006 will explode as dozens of planned and unplanned.

Comments: Super party Weekend showcased under an exciting world class track and field event. Thousands pack the streets, clubs of Austin, Tx for what has become the premier sporting event of the spring and summer of the south.









THE PENN STATE RELAYS

Place: Philadelphia, PA

Date: April 28-30, 2006

Comments: The 2nd Super party Weekend showcased under another exciting world class track and field event on the east coast. Thousands more pack the streets, clubs of Philly for what has become the premier sporting event of the spring and summer for the east coast.





THE TEXAS BEACH PARTY A.K.A KAPPA BEACH PARTY

Place: Galveston, Texas

Comments: The party brings an estimated 100,000 participants to Galveston,Texas every year. Over 4 1/2 miles of street parties, vendors, exotic cars, S.U.Vs, bikinis, concerts and more pack one of the largest black beach events in the world. Nicknamed the "Dirty South" for a reason.

THE KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL

Place: Louisville, KY

Comments: It's not just about horse racing anymore. With massive traffic jams, vendors and street parties, what was once a little known secret hot spot has emerged as the premier place for entertainers, celebrites and all participants.







MIAMI SPRING FEST

Place: Miami

Date: May 5-7, 2006

Comments: The fourth annual springfest has exploded in the past few years in bringing a new face the the spring break scene. A Mix of DanceHall, Reggae and Hip Hop takes part in this spring break time of year with many celebrity artist from the carribean and U.S.

THE ST. LUCIA ISLAND JAZZ FESTIVAL

Comments: Nothing can quite prepare you for the sounds of pure jazz along the beautiful beaches of St. Lucia. If you are looking to get away, then this is the perfect getaway spot. This immensely popular festival has brought internationally renowned jazz artists to Saint Lucia each May since 1992.

Every Memorial Day Weekend ( May 24-May 29, 2006) over 350,000 bikers travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for fun, food, festivities and more. If you love bikes and the people who ride them, you cannot miss this event. The actual event occurs around the Myrtle Beach area.There are tons of parties and events that occur throughout the 5 day weekend. The hotels are jam packed full of revelers. The beaches are swamped, the streets are packed and you can smell the BBQ grilling as many people spend their entire year waiting for this event









URBAN BEACH WEEK - MIAMI MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Comments: Is a solid mixture of people from all ethnic backgrounds that come togther for weekend celebrations. Are you looking for the most exciting urban beach party in the world? TASTE OF CHICAGO

Comments: Every summer the city of Chicago has an incredible festival. The largest and most used streets are closed downtown. Grant Park, the most visited park in Chicago, is used to hold this event. The people dine on ribs, cheeseburgers, pizza, ice cream, and hundreds of other foods. Over 100 of the city’s most famous restaurants set up shop. Basically the entire city slows down for this event. This is The Taste of Chicago.

Comments: A celebration and networking party showcasing who's who in the Film Industry.











REGGAE SUMFEST 2006

Date: July 16-22, 2006

Place: Montego Bay, Jamaica

Comments: The Reggae Sumfest is the world’s premier reggae festival which brings the hottest reggae and dancehall artist from all over the world to the reggae capital island of the world. Montego Bay,Jamaica the island’s second city, has been the home of the famed Reggae Sunsplash and is now the permanent home of the Reggae Sumfest festival. The actual concerts will be held at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex.

ZETA PHI BETA BRAND BOULE

Comments: Founded January 16, 1920, Zeta began as an idea conceived by five coeds at Howard University in Washington D.C.: Arizona Cleaver, Myrtle Tyler, Viola Tyler, Fannie Pettie and Pearl Neal.These five women, also known as our Five Pearls, dared to depart from the traditional coalitions for black women and sought to establish a new organization predicated on the precepts of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. It was the ideal of the Founders that the Sorority would reach college women in all parts of the country who were sorority minded and desired to follow the founding principles of the organization











ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY, INC 74th CONCLOVE

Place: Little Rock, AR

Date: July 24 - 28, 2006

Comments: On Friday evening, November 17, 1911, three Howard University undergraduate students, with the assistance of their faculty adviser, gave birth to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. This event occurred in the office of biology Professor Ernest E. Just, the faculty adviser, in the Science Hall (now known as Thirkield Hall). The three liberal arts students were Edgar A. Love, Oscar J. Cooper and Frank Coleman. From the initials of the Greek phrase meaning "friendship is essential to the soul," the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. The phrase was selected as the motto. Manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift were adopted as cardinal principles. A decision was made regarding the design for the pin and emblem, and thus ended the first meeting of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity

DELTA SIGMA THETA

Comments: The Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University. These young women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy; and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in their communities.

REGGAE ON THE RIVER

Comments: The Reggae On The River® Festival... The original, often imitated, never duplicated. Internationally acclaimed as three days of "the best Reggae and World music experience to be found." An annual pilgrimage for thousands each year to reconnect spiritually with friends, groove to the superb musical offerings and relax in the beautiful natural environment of the concert site. Comments: The Caribbean's premier summer festival -- Antigua's Carnival -- is celebrated each year during the last week of July and culminates on the first Monday and Tuesday in August.

Come see the beauty that are the Queen of Carnival contestants, listen to the majestic performances from our steelband men, see the awesome talent of the Mr. & Miss Teenage contestants, and of course, come see the calypsonians duke it out for supremacy during the "Mother of all Shows" (The Calypso Monarch Competition).

HBCU CLASSIC WEEKEND (Note: This is a Black College Football Weekend Event)

Teams: Edward Waters vs. Johnson C. Smith

Place: Gainesville, Florida

Date: August 25 - 27, 2006

Comments: Each year, thousands of participants arrive in town for the entire weekend for a large celebration and cheer on their favorite black college/university football team. Unless notated, all of the actual football games occur on Saturday.The pre-parties, after-parties, parades, concerts, halftime shows and the actual football game are all apart of the black college football weekend experience. Students, faculty, alumni, family and friends are all encouraged to attend.
