Personal Response To The Brazil Controversy

For those of you who have been reading the Black Beach Week Newsletter for the past 7 years, I recently put out a special issue talking about my experience in Rio De Janerio during the Brazil Carnival.

I know people have heard about Rio and have heard stories on many people going there and loving every second of it.

In fact, it was the only place I have ever heard that has never received not one negative feeedback from any male I have ever talked to in my life.

I wanted to see personally what all the fuss was about.

I also wanted to showcase the real reasons so many men (especially talking about African American Men) flock in droves to Brazil. Was it real or was it a bunch of hype? Was it all just hype?

I researched the event and the country for months before I visited it to get a handle on what to expect. I traveled to Rio for a week and talked to everyone.

I talked to the participants, locals, business owners, vendors, hotel workers, tourist agencies, the locals, tourist, non locals, the men, the women and everyone in between. I learned alot in the process.

First, why do they do it? Why do so many many flock to Brazil?

Namely the parties, the beaches, the weather, the beautiful women and most importantly all the positive feedback they receive from the time they arrive until the time they leave.

I wrote a brief one page report of examples of what I saw, why men were attracted to it and tips on how to make it more fun.

I received hundreds of emails from both men and women. I did not receive one negative comment from any male readers.

I received about 50% positive 50 negative feedback from female readers.

Many female subscribers from the Black Beach Week newsletter felt it was in bad taste to showcase the lifestyle, the photos and the information in regards to men going all the way to Brazil just to see or mingle with Brazilian women.

Most felt that more so an attack on lack American women then anything else.

Since there were so may letters, it was hard for me to respond to them one by one as much as I wanted to. I did try and get to as many as I could. However, I felt that was not enough. I wanted to answer all the questions that women had in regards to this topic and the only way to do it was to create the question and answer portion so you can see exactly why I talked about Brazil and to answer your most pressing questions right here.

1.) FIRST, LET ME EXPLAIN THE GOAL OF THE BLACK BEACH WEEK NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE

My mission for this website has been plastered on the front page of BlackBeachWeek.com the past 8 years and has never wavered.

"We are the #1 source for information, discussions, clubs, photos, videos and the "secret" hot spot for black beach events and special large scale party gatherings for participants ages 18 to 35.

That means that my job is to showcase any large scale travel events for people of color which has a "party edge" in which people could enjoy.

You see things here that you will not get from other websites, newspapers, TV shows, magazines, word of mouth and other media outlet and you get it all organized for you for FREE.

2.) WHY DID I DO A NEWSLETTER DEVOTED TO BRAZIL AND ONLY SHOWCASED WOMEN PHOTOS?

Every single newsletter that I do is different. I have newsletters which focuses on MEN ONLY events/photos and I have ones that focus on FEMALE ONLY events/photos.

90% of the time I just concentrate of events that cater to everyone. Brazil is just one of those places that has been talked about as a place many men flock to and with the goal of my website to showcase "secret" black beach events in the world, I was not going to just skip it because it is popular with one gender.

3.) WHY DON'T YOU HAVE NEWSLETTERS OR INFORMATION REGARDING FEMALE DESTINATIONS AND PHOTOS OF MEN HALF NAKED

This is the part that gets to me. I have done over 4 newsletters in 2007 alone devoted just for women . Photos, events and everything.
