    The MusicFest will take place during Black Music Month, and will bring the spirit of VIBE to life in Atlanta with concerts by the best in R&B, hip hop, world music and gospel, and daytime events celebrating the impact of black music and entertainment on universal culture.

    Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin has given her full support to the event, and says she is excited about the fresh new energy that the festival will bring to her city.

    "Atlanta is a city with a rich history of great musical traditions; we are thrilled that the first VIBE MusicFest will join that cultural legacy," Franklin said. "We have diverse musical and cultural appetites here in Atlanta, so we look forward to experiencing the sounds and excitement this festival is sure to bring."

    MusicFest participants will be able to check out a series of exhibits crafted to echo the content of VIBE magazine, including a food fair, a book fair, an interactive game and technology experience, fashion and beauty make-overs, and music showcases that will feature hot up-and-coming talent as well as old school groove artists.

    There will also contain ares for vendors, artists from throughout the country who offer an array of quality arts and crafts that reflect culture.
